Maintenance protocol

Canonical change sequence

  1. Check the current primary authority.
  2. Update docs/evidence/sources.md.
  3. Update docs/evidence/matrix.md and the validation queue.
  4. Update data/standards.csv where relevant.
  5. Change canonical synthesis and linked concept pages.
  6. Run:
npm run citations:update
npm run kb:update
npm run verify
npm run service:status
  1. Record date, scope and outcome in the research log.

Integrity rules

  • Do not edit generated docs/standards/register.md, docs/assets/generated/, graphify-out/, okf-out/, or llms* as canonical content.
  • Do not renumber a published source ID to reuse it.
  • Preserve URL, title, authority, scope, status, retrieval date and limitation.
  • If a source disappears, retain the ID, record the access issue and find the responsible body’s replacement.
  • Update docs/canonical-concept-links.json when a substantive page or inbound route moves.
  • Keep current and future law visibly separate.
